WHO I AM

Hi, I’m Wesley Duncan.

I’ve been passionate about architecture since the third grade—when my teacher caught me sketching houses on my homework instead of solving math problems. Even then, I couldn’t help but imagine spaces where people could live, gather, and thrive. I used to draw “dream houses” for girls in school just to start a conversation. Looking back, it’s clear that design has always been my way of connecting with people.

That childhood fascination grew into a lifelong calling. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture from Texas A&M University and have spent the past twenty years designing homes, churches, and retreat centers across the country. In 2022, I officially became a licensed architect—a milestone that affirmed what I had always known: this work is more than a profession. It’s a vocation.

Along the way, God called me into another form of formation—the local church. I spent eleven years pastoring congregations who were longing to reach the next generation without losing their theological roots. Those years shaped me deeply. They taught me the beauty and burden of shepherding people, the complexity of cultural change, and the sacred responsibility of helping communities become places where faith is not merely discussed, but lived.

Today, my life sits at the intersection of architecture and theology. I continue to practice architecture while writing, teaching, and creating resources that help churches think more clearly about formation—spiritual, communal, and embodied. I believe spaces shape people, practices shape souls, and the church is at its best when it remembers who it has always been while faithfully engaging who it is called to reach.
